Alfredo Colleoni in exhibit at Tenute La Montina in Franciacorta

“Spiriti e caprichos” The enigmatic printed works of art by Alfredo Colleoni in exhibit at Tenute La Montina in Franciacorta

Monticelli Brusati (BS) – “Spiriti e caprichos”: this is the title of the solo exhibition by artist Alfredo Colleoni from Bergamo, on display until 31 October in the recently renovated spaces of the Contemporary Art Gallery of the Franciacorta winery La Montina in Monticelli Brusati (in province of Brescia). The review was designed to celebrate the artistic partnership undertaken by Bergamo and Brescia Capital of Culture 2023.

Alfredo Colleoni creates his works with the chalcography technique, which is a printing system with a copper or zinc plate that reproduces the engraved sign. Graduated in painting at the Brera Academy in Milan in 1987, the artist creates scenarios with dreamlike and symbolic images, exploring themes that refer to an interior search linked to philosophy.

“I conceive a work spontaneously. In fact, it must be able to arise from manual work without any cognitive and mental hindrance – he says – The phase preceding the creation of a work is comparable to an instinctive and emotional hunt. It consists of drawing many small sketches, trying to hit the exact moment in which, following an idea, I grasp the essence of the concept contained in it. Subsequently, the transposition occurs according to the peculiarities of the technique used”.

In occasion of “Spiriti e caprichos”, the author, with a coherent stylistic game, combines the intimacy of the exhibition space of the La Montina winery with the evocative themes of his works and displays monotype works with images of cosmic and interior landscapes.

The exhibition, available to all the visitors of the winery, can only be visited by reservation, by writing to comunicazione@lamontina.it or by calling 030 65.32.78.

Guided tours with the artist are scheduled for Sunday 24 September and Sunday 15 October.
